The South Australian Wine Industry Association together with the SA Country Fire Service will help you to assess the risks, devise (or revise) your plan to avoid a negative safety incident and enhance your reputation for the right reasons – that is hosting a great event, and not for the wrong reasons – media coverage because people didn’t know where to go!
Reviewing or planning an emergency plan (EP) and procedure for your workplace (PS this is a mandatory requirement under the WHS legislation), including
- Your bushfire plan;
- Contingency & continuity planning for winery, cellar door & function centre
- Communication offsite and onsite for staff and customers & workers in vineyards
- Whose “in charge” during the emergency, who is calling the “shots”
- Assessing what risks exist for your event
- Who do you need consult with – your neighbours, the bus companies, event organisers, contractors, etc?
- Unruly behaviour – how will you deal with this without the matter turning ugly?
- Traffic congestion and speed limits, people crossing roads
- Industrial relations & employment implications during and following emergencies
This workshop aims to give wine industry employers a comprehensive introduction to EP’s with a particular focus on improving dealing with bushfires (& understanding threats) and identifying and assessing other potential risks relevant to running events at your vineyard or winery.
