Industry feedback: Occupations for State-nominated skilled migration

Tuesday, Mar 22, 2016

Annually the South Australian Department of State Development (DSD) undertakes detailed labour force analysis to determine the occupations in which skills shortages could benefit from migration under the skilled Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 489) and the Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190).

As a result of the successful advocacy by the South Australian Wine Industry Association last year, for the first time the viticulturist and winemaker occupations were added to the list of skilled occupations.

SAWIA is seeking industry feedback on which wine industry specific occupations should be made available for State-nominated skilled migration. Any of the 651 skilled occupations listed in the Consolidated Sponsored Occupation List (CSOL), which is produced by the Federal Government can be added to the list of skilled occupations in demand in South Australia.

The current list of skilled occupations in demand in South Australia is available from Migration SA.

SAWIA members can provide feedback by Monday 11 April 2016 by contacting Henrik Wallgren.
