Under the Fair Work Act 2009 the Fair Work Commission (FWC) is required to undertake a 4-yearly review of all Modern Awards. 

The South Australian Wine Industry Association (SAWIA) is actively participating in the Review seeking to vary aspects of the Wine Industry Award 2010 based on evidence from wine industry employers.

In addition to proceedings on individual Modern Awards, FWC has identified a number of common issues affecting multiple Modern Awards. These common issues address some of the following topics:

• Penalty rates; 
• Public Holidays;
• Award Flexibility; 
• Casual employment;
• Part-time employment; and 
• Small Business Schedule.
