Please be mindful of your obligations as a host employer if you are engaging labour hire provider & workers and know what the labour hire provider is responsible for – you must do your due diligence around this type of engagement. Similarly if you employ contractors or workers on visas please be aware of your obligations under the Fair Work Act 2009 but also the Work, Health and Safety Act and Migration Act.
Please take 2 minutes to read the attached short note about the current activities of the Fair Work Inspectors out and about in regional South Australia, namely the Riverland, Murray Bridge and Mount Gambier looking at workplaces regarding – compliance issue generally, which includes things like classifications of employees, grading and wage rates, contractor arrangements and compliance with pay slips.
