Maximising positive outcomes
Achieving strong and positive outcomes that help our industry to thrive and grow is a key role of SAWIA. We use our networks to work with a wide range of stakeholders to achieve these goals. Here are a few examples of how we create opportunities for our members.
$2 million of funding for wine tourism
SAWIA successfully secured $2 million of International Wine Tourism State Grant funding for the South Australian International Wine Tourism project. SAWIA is working closely with the SA Tourism Commission to deliver the two-year $2 million project, which aims to increase the number of international visitors to our wine regions and their spend. Details of the program are available here.
Wine Business Growth program
South Australian government funding of more than $150,000 was secured, enabling SAWIA to deliver a program of business evaluation, coaching and mentoring services to small wine companies aiming to grow sales and exports while employing more South Australians. The initial program received such strong positive feedback from participating businesses that we secured additional funding from the South Australian government for new industry participants. Market and industry development
SAWIA has been facilitating a wide range of programs leveraging funding of $250,000 per year provided by the South Australian government. In past years, the funding was directed at market development. Funding is now addressing a range of key industry development areas for improvement that are jointly agreed between industry and government. Regional wine associations can also access funding. Details are available here.
South Australian Wine Industry Development Scheme (SAWIDS)
The $1.8 million SAWIDS fund supports projects that add economic value to the wine industry. The emphasis is on improving productivity within the wine industry, and all types of projects are considered.
