Are you paying more than you have to?
Holders of a liquor licence (licensees) are required to pay an annual liquor licensing fee. Currently, the licensing fee depends on the type of licence held, which is based on factors such as whether consumption is allowed on premises, trading hours and capacity.
However, a new fee structure commenced on 1 November 2019 for new licensees and will commence on 1 July 2020 for existing licensees. In many instances, this will result in increased costs. An overview of the fee components for each new licence category is available via Consumer and Business Services.
